About

A little about myself -

My name is Matt Bowcock - I’m a 27 year old software developer working for the Acushnet Company the makers of Titleist, Cobra, Pinnacle, Foot Joy, and Scotty Cameron golf equipment.

I graduated in 2003 from the University of Massachusetts - Dartmouth with a B.S. in Computer Engineering. I am beginning the M.S. Computer Engineering program at Umass in September 2007.

Most of my time is spent supporting and developing business software to support Acushnet’s manufacturing capabilities. This requires using mostly business oriented programming languages and tools (VB, C#, etc.). However I still get to play with lower level (c/c++, Asm) development in my free time - whatever that is. Along with that I enjoy doing some web app development - I’ve got a couple of projects I’m currently developing that may someday change the world - but those are in private gamma-beta v.0.01 right now. I’m sure you’ll hear about those projects soon enough. Most web development I’ve done has been in PHP/MySql but I have done some ASP.Net, and JAVA work - and have been playing with Ruby some over the past few months.

I’m a huge Red Sox fan and you can find me posting quite a bit over at Fenway Forum.

About the site -

I initially registered the mbowcock.com domain back in 2003 to use for email - sometime in 2004 I added the subdomains matt.mbowcock.com and meagan.mbowcock.com. Matt.mbowcock.com was used as a wordpress blog for a while which I didn’t update nearly as often as I could/should have. Recently (2007) I moved the domain to a new host and starting posting again.
